Epidural perineural injection is a modern, minimally invasive therapeutic technique designed for immediate and targeted pain relief in the lower lumbar spine. It is primarily indicated in cases of disc herniation or spinal canal stenosis, where irritation of the L5 and S1 nerve roots is present.
Technical procedure
The method is based on the administration of an extremely small volume of local anesthetic (approximately 1 ml), with high precision into the epidural space, specifically targeting the affected L5 and S1 nerve roots. The procedure is performed using a very fine needle, ensuring maximum patient comfort and safety.
