Zygomatic–acromial joint

The zygomatic–acromial joint refers to the connection between the zygomatic bone and the acromion of the scapula via the zygomatic arch (a descriptively anatomical term). It contributes to the stability of the shoulder and facial region. It is particularly relevant in high-energy trauma. Proper function is associated with the smooth movement of surrounding structures.
