Cervical myelopathy is a serious condition in which the spinal cord in the cervical region of the spine (C1–C7) is compressed and becomes dysfunctional. This compression causes neurological disturbances in the hands, legs, and even gait, because the cervical spinal cord transmits signals throughout the body.
It is the most important complication of cervical spinal stenosis.
