Xiphosternal ligament

The xiphisternal ligament is a fibrous ligament that strengthens the connection between the xiphoid process and the sternum. It provides stability to the lower part of the chest. It is small but anatomically important. It contributes to the integrity of the thoracic wall. It is rarely injured.
