Fibula (peroneal bone)

The fibula is the slender bone of the lower leg, located parallel to the tibia. It contributes to ankle stability and provides attachment points for muscles and ligaments. It does not bear significant body weight. Injuries or fractures of the fibula may cause pain, instability, and difficulty walking.
