Genu valgum

Genu valgum is a deformity of the lower limb alignment in which the mechanical axis of the limb is displaced, causing the knees to angle inward. It alters the distribution of loads within the knee joint and may affect gait and functional ability. It can result from developmental factors, injuries, bone deformities, or degenerative changes. Assessment is performed through clinical examination and radiographic evaluation to determine the degree of deviation. Treatment depends on the severity of the deformity and may include physiotherapy, corrective exercises, or surgical correction in severe cases.
