Comminuted fracture

A comminuted fracture is a severe type of bone fracture in which the bone breaks into three or more fragments. It is usually caused by high-energy trauma, such as road traffic accidents or falls. It is often associated with significant soft tissue damage and severe pain. Treatment depends on the location and severity of the fracture and may require surgical fixation with osteosynthesis hardware.
