Partial ligament rupture

A partial ligament rupture is an injury in which the continuity of some fibers of a ligament is disrupted without complete detachment. It causes pain, swelling, and reduced joint stability. It is usually caused by a sprain or a sudden movement beyond the normal range of motion. Treatment is mainly conservative with immobilization and physiotherapy. Rehabilitation aims to restore stability and function.
