Subluxation (partial dislocation)

Subluxation (partial dislocation) is the partial loss of normal contact between the articular surfaces of a joint. In this condition, the joint is not fully dislocated but shows instability and reduced function. It may be caused by trauma, muscle weakness, or neurological disorders. Symptoms include pain, reduced range of motion, and a feeling of instability. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may be conservative or surgical.
