Spinal contusion / vertebral microfractures

Spinal contusion and vertebral microfractures are traumatic injuries usually caused by sudden flexion, falls, or strong mechanical stress on the spine. In a contusion, no visible fracture is present, but there is a temporary disturbance of tissue function and possible irritation of neural structures. Microfractures involve small cracks in the vertebral bones without significant displacement or instability. Symptoms may include pain, stiffness, and reduced range of motion in the affected area. Diagnosis is based on clinical examination and imaging studies, while treatment is usually conservative, involving rest and monitoring.
