Scapular Notch

The scapular notch is a bony groove on the scapula through which nerves and blood vessels pass to innervate the shoulder muscles. It plays a role in transmitting nerve signals and supplying blood to the rotator cuff muscles. Proper structure and alignment of the notch are important for smooth shoulder function. Pathologies in this area can cause neurological symptoms and dysfunction.
