Shoulder hyperextension

Shoulder hyperextension occurs when the upper limb moves beyond its normal range of backward extension. This can cause stretching or tearing of ligaments, muscles, and/or the joint capsule. It is common in sports activities and may lead to pain, instability, or reduced shoulder function. Treatment includes rest, physical therapy, and strengthening exercises.
