Positive Thomas test
A positive Thomas test is a clinical finding indicating contraction or shortening of the hip flexors. During the test, flexion of the knee and hip of the non-tested leg indicates limitation of extension. It is used in orthopedic and physiotherapeutic assessment. It is particularly useful for evaluating the flexibility of the iliopsoas muscle. A positive result indicates muscular imbalance.
