Patellar dislocation

Patellar dislocation is the pathological displacement of the patella out of its normal position within the femoral trochlear groove. It usually occurs laterally due to trauma or sudden twisting movements. It causes severe pain, swelling, and inability to extend the knee. It may be associated with cartilage or ligament injuries. Treatment includes reduction, immobilization, and in recurrent cases, surgical repair.
