Osteitis

Osteitis is inflammation of bone tissue that may be caused by infection or trauma. It causes pain, tenderness, and local dysfunction. It may progress to more serious conditions such as osteomyelitis. Diagnosis is based on clinical and imaging findings. Treatment depends on the underlying cause.
