Nerve compression

Nerve compression occurs when an anatomical structure—such as an intervertebral disc, a muscle, a ligament, or even inflammation-related swelling—exerts mechanical pressure on a nerve trunk. This pressure disrupts normal nerve function, leading to pain, numbness, burning sensations, or weakness in the area supplied by the affected nerve.
