Nerve root decompression

Nerve root decompression is a procedure, usually surgical or interventional, aimed at relieving pressure on a nerve exiting the spinal cord. The pressure may be caused by a herniated disc, bony osteophyte, or spinal canal stenosis. Decompression reduces pain, numbness, and weakness in the limbs and helps restore normal nerve function.
