Nerve conduction study (NCS)

Nerve conduction study (NCS) is a diagnostic test that evaluates the function of peripheral nerves by measuring the speed and strength of electrical signals transmitted along them. It is often used together with electromyography (EMG) to identify and assess neurological problems.
