Muscle hypertonia
Muscle hypertonia is a pathological increase in muscle tone, in which muscles show increased resistance to passive movement. It is often associated with neurological disorders or central nervous system damage. It can cause stiffness, limited range of motion, and pain. It affects functionality and posture. Management includes physiotherapy and, in some cases, medication.
