Meniscal injury

Meniscus injury is a tear or degeneration of the meniscus, a fibrocartilaginous structure located within the knee joint that contributes to shock absorption and joint stability. It can be caused by sudden twisting movements, sports-related injuries, or age-related degenerative changes. The most common symptoms include pain, swelling, difficulty with movement, and a feeling of locking or instability of the knee. Diagnosis is made through clinical examination and imaging methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Treatment may include physiotherapy, medication, or, in some cases, surgical repair.
