Latent ligamentous instability

Latent ligamentous instability refers to subclinical ligament laxity that is not always evident on clinical examination. It may cause episodes of a feeling of instability or minor injuries. It is often detected with special tests or imaging. It affects the functional stability of the joint. Rehabilitation is based on strengthening and stabilization.
