Laminectomy

Laminectomy is a surgical removal of part of the vertebral lamina in order to decompress the spinal canal or nerve roots. It is used in cases such as spinal stenosis or disc herniation. The goal is to relieve pain, numbness, or weakness. The procedure may be combined with spinal stabilization depending on the case.
