Iliopsoasitis

Iliopsoasitis is inflammation of the iliopsoas muscle or its tendon. It causes pain on the anterior surface of the hip and difficulty in hip flexion. It is often associated with overuse or minor injuries. It may occur in athletes or after prolonged immobilization. Treatment is mainly conservative.
