Femoral condyles

The femoral condyles are the two rounded prominences at the lower end of the femur. They participate in the formation of the knee joint. They allow smooth movement and support of the body. They are covered with articular cartilage to reduce friction. Injuries in this area may significantly affect the functionality of the knee.
