Compartment syndrome

Compartment syndrome is a serious condition in which pressure increases within a closed muscle compartment, compromising blood flow and tissue function. It often occurs after fractures, trauma, or severe swelling. It causes intense pain, tightness, numbness, and possible muscle weakness in the affected limb. It is a medical emergency and may require urgent surgical decompression to prevent permanent damage.
