Collateral ligament

A collateral ligament is a ligament that stabilizes a joint in the lateral direction and limits excessive side-to-side movements. It is found in the knee, shoulder, or ankle. Injuries to it cause instability, pain, and reduced mobility. Treatment includes strengthening, physiotherapy, or surgical reconstruction in severe cases.
