Union / Nonunion (Pseudarthrosis)

Union is the normal healing process of a fracture, whereas nonunion (pseudarthrosis) is the failure of fracture healing with the formation of a false joint. Pseudarthrosis causes pain and instability. It may require surgical intervention. Proper stabilization is crucial. They represent opposite outcomes of fracture healing.
