Knee osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis)

A chronic degenerative disease of the knee joint characterized by progressive wear of the articular cartilage, changes in the subchondral bone, and involvement of surrounding soft tissues, leading to pain during weight-bearing, stiffness, swelling, and gradual limitation of joint function.
