Sciatic pain

Sciatic pain is pain occurring along the course of the sciatic nerve, usually starting from the lower back or buttock and potentially extending to the back of the thigh and the leg. It is often caused by irritation or compression of the nerve roots, such as in cases of intervertebral disc herniation or spinal stenosis. Symptoms may include pain, numbness, tingling, burning sensation, or muscle weakness. Diagnosis is based on clinical examination and, when necessary, imaging or neurological tests. Treatment may include physiotherapy, specific exercises, medication, and management of the underlying cause.
