Hemivertebrectomy (hemispondylectomy)

Hemivertebrectomy (hemispondylectomy) is a surgical procedure in which half of a vertebra is removed, usually to correct congenital deformities of the spine. It is mainly performed in cases of hemivertebra that cause scoliosis or kyphosis. The goal of the procedure is to restore spinal alignment and prevent progression of the deformity.
