Posterior ligament

The posterior ligament is one of the ligaments of the spine that stabilizes the vertebrae and limits excessive movement. It protects the spinal cord and nerve roots. Injury or laxity of the ligament can cause pain or instability. Strengthening the surrounding muscles reduces the load on it.
