heel spur

A heel spur is a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel, usually formed due to chronic stress in the area. It is often associated with plantar fasciitis and causes pain during walking, especially with the first steps in the morning. Treatment includes rest, orthotic insoles, physiotherapy, and in rare cases, interventional treatment.
