Greenstick fracture

A greenstick fracture is an incomplete fracture that occurs mainly in children due to the greater elasticity of their bones. In this type of fracture, the bone bends and breaks on only one side, while the other side remains intact, similar to a green twig. It causes pain, swelling, and difficulty in moving the affected limb. Treatment usually involves immobilization with a splint or cast and has an excellent prognosis.
