Ganglion cyst

Ganglion cyst is a benign cyst containing gelatinous fluid that usually appears near joints or tendons, mainly in the wrist, hand, and ankle. It originates from the synovial membrane or tendon sheath and may increase or decrease in size depending on joint activity. It is often asymptomatic, but it may cause pain, tenderness, pressure on nerves, or restricted movement. Diagnosis is made through clinical examination and, when necessary, ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Treatment may include observation, immobilization, fluid aspiration, or surgical removal in persistent or symptomatic cases.
