Epicondylitis is an inflammation or overuse injury of the tendons that attach to the epicondyles of the elbow—the points where the forearm muscles connect to the elbow. It is a common condition that causes pain and difficulty with movements of the arm and wrist.
Types:
• Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow): affects the tendons on the outer side of the elbow
• Medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow): affects the tendons on the inner side of the elbow
