Dislocation

A dislocation is the complete displacement of the articular surfaces of a joint, resulting in loss of their normal contact. It is usually caused by trauma, falls, or sudden forceful movements. It is accompanied by severe pain, deformity, and significant restriction of movement. It can affect any joint in the body, such as the shoulder, elbow, or fingers. Treatment includes immediate reduction and, in some cases, immobilization or surgical repair.
