Compensatory kyphosis

Compensatory kyphosis is a pathological or adaptive forward curvature of the spine that occurs as a compensation for other spinal disorders, usually to maintain body balance and an upright posture. It is a secondary kyphosis that develops to offset another abnormality, such as scoliosis or loss of vertebral height.
