Colles’ Fracture

A Colles’ fracture is a fracture of the distal end of the radius, near the wrist. It is usually caused by a fall onto an outstretched hand. It is characterized by a typical deformity of the wrist. It is accompanied by pain, swelling, and restricted movement. Treatment includes reduction and immobilization or, in some cases, surgical repair.
