Intervertebral disc prolapse

Intervertebral disc prolapse is a form of disc herniation in which the nucleus pulposus pushes outward and creates a bulge into the spinal canal, without a complete rupture of the annulus fibrosus. It is considered a more advanced stage than bulging but less severe than extrusion and sequestration.
