Disc-vertebral degeneration (disc-osteochondropathy) is a general term describing degenerative changes of the intervertebral discs and vertebrae of the spine. It is a common condition associated with aging, mechanical stress, or injury, and can affect any part of the spine, most commonly the lumbar region.
