Analgesia

Analgesia is the state in which pain is partially or completely relieved without necessarily affecting the perception of other sensations, such as touch or temperature. In orthopedic practice, analgesia is a primary objective in both conservative and surgical treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, as it enables patients to mobilize earlier and participate more effectively in the rehabilitation process. Pain relief can be achieved through various approaches, including the administration of analgesic medications, local or regional anesthetic techniques (such as peripheral nerve blocks), physical therapy, and modern interventional pain management procedures. Appropriate pain management following an injury or orthopedic surgery plays a crucial role in reducing inflammation, preventing the development of chronic pain, and promoting faster functional recovery and an improved quality of life.
